A Few of My Favorite Things…

An ongoing list of random finds & simple pleasures.

  • When our first grandchild was born in 2020 in a different state, I got a new credit card. I wanted a card that allowed me to build up points to apply toward a free hotel stay. We utilized it while visiting our grandson when they lived out of state. We continue to use this card for larger purchases to build up points. We have stayed at IHG hotels on our recent vacations just by using the points that we have accumulated. Talk about a win! You can obtain an IHG credit card here and start off with some bonus points!

  • We know I love printing my photos and for most of my work I use Mpix.com - You can obtain a $10 off coupon here.

  • Younique makeup: Love the foundation options and coverage. Their eyeshadows are some of my favorites too!

  • This is my absolute favorite cardstock. I make a lot of visuals/crafts for Bible class and a must for me to have on hand. This cardstock is perfect to print visuals for Bible class, family time or homeschool sessions for pre-school, elementary ages.

  • In 2023 I started “The Crown” Bible Study. It has been a wonderful study of David & Christ. You can learn more about the study here.

  • I discovered the app GoodNotes for the study above and I use it on my iPad. It allows you to color code, highlight, etc and I can have a digital copy of all my notes. It will work for both Mac & Windows users.

  • Selfie Stick - While I rarely use it for selfies, I do use this for videography - something I am exploring this year. It is compact, and easy to use with either my iPhone or my husband’s Android.

  • I invested in these travel packing cubes for our 2021 Colorado trip and wondered why it has taken me so long to buy these. Seriously! It has now completely changed how I pack and the suitcases stay organized the whole trip!

  • Another small tool, but so necessary for night photography! A red LED flashlight!

  • Another travel necessity when shooting while hiking, camping etc. - A headlamp. I have also found them helpful when doing projects around the house, such as painting. It’s nice to be hands free and shed a little extra light on your work surface.

  • We inherited a couple of old very comfortable lazy-boy chairs. Unfortunately the pattern wasn’t as pretty as it was comfortable. These chair covers are amazing!

  • I love helping people stage and prepare their homes for real estate photography.

  • I have recently toyed with filming and this was my first attempt putting together a video. Want to learn how I did it? Click here.

  • If you are scouting camera gear - here are some of the hottest items.
