I was honored to have the opportunity to take photos of Mr. & Mrs. Miller’s Platinum Wedding Anniversary and witness their renewal of vows at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Tyler. Anniversaries are milestones and it was a celebration of 70 years together, a goal few couples experience. What an example and something we should all strive for!

Having an extreme sweet tooth, this is my go-to fix. I make these so often I have the recipe memorized! I’ve even been known just to make them just so I could eat the raw cookie dough. Yeah, I like to live dangerously. I mean really, has anyone actually ever gotten salmonella from eating raw cookie dough, or are people just trying to keep me from living my best life? 😂

We did not venture too far this spring break but managed to do a quick weekend getaway trip to do some good eating, antique shopping, and our final stop….the tulips!

We visited White Sands National Park in the summer of 2021. This park had been on my bucket list for over 15 years so when we planned our Colorado trip, we tacked this onto the last leg of our trip. To date, it has been one of my favorite places to photograph. It is just so unique and unlike anywhere else I have ever been. The dazzling white sands shimmer like a mirage and are tucked away in the Tularosa Basin in southern New Mexico. They shift and settle over the Chihuahuan Desert, covering 275 square miles.

Sometimes even with the best planning, a session gets rained out. Visit here to see one of the images we managed to get before the rain cut our session super short. Fast forward a few weeks to the re-scheduled date and everything is budding out making it a beautiful spring backdrop for family photos.

If most guys are honest, they do a senior photo session to appease their mom. 😀 Overall, most guys tend to be less than enthusiastic about their senior photography session, but I can assure you it can be an enjoyable time together and can be accomplished in a short time just by following these five simple steps.

Even in something I initially saw as a nuisance, we can see beauty. We see repetition everywhere in nature and throughout our daily life as we exercise our faith reminding me that there are some things we can even learn from the weeds of life.
